Our story
My family and I live in the Greater Cincinnati, Ohio Area and surrounded by pretty decent golf courses. I was asked to play golf with my Dad and brother and I have never played golf except for going to the driving range and hitting balls after hitting the batting cages to keep my swing for baseball and softball. So needless to say this was not going to be pretty. I went and was able to hit the ball off the tee a mile, but would slice the ball right and then my Dad would tell me how to correct my swing and then I would hook the ball a mile into the trees usually. I wasn’t very good. Then there was my horrible short game, and putting. I thought that I was the man putting because putt-putt was no challenge for me. I was completely wrong. So I went and practiced and practiced and without lessons I picked up the worse habits with my swing, my short
game, but I was able to work on my putting and I was pretty OK. My Dad and brother gave me some if their unused golf clubs and went and continued to go woth them to play, but still was not very good. I was having no fun chasing a little white ball around. I then took a few lessons, watched golf videos, and practiced what I was taught. I then became a pretty decent player that hold his own on the golf course most days. As you will find out some days it is better to playing golf and have a bad day than being at work and having a good day, or something like that. So this blog is my story from being golf’s worst beginner to playing pretty descent. Its a good thing my parent’s live in Florida and have some of the best golf courses around where they live. My started to take lessons at the age of 60 and we play golf as a family whenever I go and visit them.
